As a huge fan of the show, I was thrilled to work with the folks at The Gauntlet and longtime collaborator Gabriel Robinson on the Silt Verses TTRPG adaptation.

One of my ongoing personal projects is the creation of Jewish imagery & Judaica that appeals more to my own alternative, “spooky” & macabre sensibilities – after all, why should Catholic goths have all the fun?

This cover for issue #1 of Golem Zine (dedicated to Jewish life & culture in Glasgow) involved a deep dive into the history of Glaswegian Jewish art and local architecture.

This mixed media piece was created for the PM Press anthology Black Metal Rainbows, a collection of essays on black metal through queer and feminist lenses. I started with the antique illustration of the doll head (“Minerva” was the company, the new metal head was the selling point) and worked from there via the goddess Minerva’s associations with wisdom, the arts and war. The head on the spear references the ongoing fight against white supremacist groups in the metal music scene.

My second ZineQuest 2 project, cover & interior illustrations for game designer Gabriel Robinson‘s tabletop roleplaying game Candlelight. For this story of lost adventurers trying to find their way out of the forest that claimed their lives, we decided to set the tone with moody ink paintings that hint at dark forces deep within the woods and the tragic pasts of the players.

A sheyd (Jewish demon) inspired by two major stylistic influences, Leonard Baskin & Aubrey Beardsley, and also by the #AugustAdiPOSE & #FatArt hashtags on Twitter. The title/text “feygele” is a Yiddish word meaning “little bird” often used as slang for a queer person – here also playing off the figure’s size & the bird-like attributes of sheydim in folklore. A queer/trans fat Jewish aspiration!

Logo design is an opportunity for me to take my love of symbolism and narrative in a more refined/edited direction. This one was created for a queer, Yiddish, anarchist, pay-what-you-can cafe in Glasgow (check them out here):
